I didn't get any answers the first time I asked and still need computer tech help..please..pretty please?

could you help a non computer person with a problem..please..I was messing with my pictures for desktop.?

I went to view (arrange icons by name) and was changing a few names so I could organzie them into categories, %26amp; they would be grouped together (like flower-zinnias, flowers,-lilies, cartoons-popeye.,etc

The problem is now I notice some pictures have the wrong picture..For example, a picture of mickey mouse, a name of a flower, %26amp; a picture of a flower.

No idea what happened to mickey- the picture on the icon that when I set to desktop instead is a flower.

Mickey is there twice--once on the right desktop picture (after I click that option) %26amp; once on the wrong desktop picture when I click it shows a flower instead.

I tried copying %26amp; I get the right picture a%26amp; icon and desktop but when I try to rename it so it doesn't say copy (in order to group it with the other flowers..it let's me change the name, but also changes it back to mickey picture.

Hope that's understandable.I want them all to be right pictures, icons, and desktop but with no files that say the words copy of on em

This is hard to follow. By "pictures for desktop" I guess you mean desktop backgrounds, aka wallpaper. I don't know what you mean by icon, unless you mean the view options in the window where you keep the image files?

In any case, when copying, you can avoid "copy of" by right clicking the file and choosing Copy, then going to a place different from the place the file to be copied is located, and rightclicking a blank space there and choosing Paste. Renaming is easy enough.

So if your image files are in a folder, then take the files that have the wrong thumbnail image out of the folder and put them into another folder, by right clicking on them and choosing Cut, then rightclick on an empty space in the new folder and choose paste.

Then all your odd behaving image files will be together. Then restart your computer, to make Windows release whatever it is holding onto, if that is in fact the problem [it happens]. Then go back to the problem files and see what has happened, and if they are the same [wrong picture in the thumbnail view], then try this: go to My Computer, Local Disc C, rightclick that, choose Properties on the bottom, and when you get the dialog box, choose Tools, choose Check Now under Error checking, check the box that says automatically fix errors, and you will get a popup message that says you have to restart for this, so restart, and wait for the checkdisk to finish. When it finishes, Windows will start up and then go to the folder and see what has happened.

Don't forget that the desktop properties utility you get when you right click the desktop keeps a list of desktop backgrounds that have been used, and this renaming of files could have confused things there. You can set your desktop background just by double clicking an image file, like .jpg, and rightclicking the picture in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer, and choosing Set as desktop background.

Reply:i dont get u.
Reply:Right mouse click the icon and go to properties choose change Icon. If the Icon is not listed click on Browse to where it is then click on it and click OK
Reply:If you have a system restore use it, go back before you made the changes to your computer.
Reply:I left you an answer on the first one. It is the same thing as the system restore answer you have here. I would not do anything until I tried that option first.

lol I do stuff like this all the time. I have a good friend in India who helps me when I screw up like this.

relax it can be fixed or it can be completely wiped away and start over. done that a lot of times.
Reply:your problem may be from any number of causes. i would recommend getting someone who knows computers to actually look at it. it may be something like you accidentally dragging it onto something else, or maybe the properties getting messed up, or even the original picture getting deleted.

that problem isnt something that you will be able to have us help you with here, as there are many questions that we would need to ask you about it. you're going to be needing to have a conversation, not just a single question and answer.

The Whipping by Robert Hayden? Help!?!?

Here is the poem:

The Whipping

The old woman across the way

is whipping the boy again

and shouting to the neighborhood

her goodness and his wrongs.

Wildly he crashes through elephant ears,

pleads in dusty zinnias,

while she in spite of crippling fat

pursues and corners him.

She strikes and strikes the shrilly circling

boy till the stick breaks

in her hand. His tears are rainy weather

to woundlike memories:

My head gripped in bony vise

of knees, the writhing struggle

to wrench free, the blows, the fear

worse than blows that hateful

Words could bring, the face that I

no longer knew or loved . . .

Well, it is over now, it is over,

and the boy sobs in his room,

And the woman leans muttering against

a tree, exhausted, purged--

avenged in part for lifelong hidings

she has had to bear.

What is the theme of this poem? What is the woman purged of at the end? Why does the speaker fail to mention what the boy has done wrong

This has a lot of directions. Look beyond the words and get into the head of the woman....the homework is yours to do.

Reply:wow that sounds like a major mess. I don't know that much about computers myself, but with a mess like that, I think I would, if you have windows xp, go to the control panel and then go from there to system restore and restore it to a date before I did the stuff to the pictures. Maybe it will take it back the way it was and you can try again. only this time get the how to from the help section on the explorer task bar.

hope you get your zinnias away from under neath your popeyes. that could get real messy if Bluto shows up. yep.

Pie chart question?

Suppose a garden plot contains 5 zinnias, 10 irises, 11 marigolds, 15 hollyhocks, and 23 lilies. If you

were to make a pie chart of the flowers in the plot, What would be the central angle for each?

(Example, 38 degrees-Hollyhocks, 76 degrees-Lilies and so on..)
Pie chart question?
The total number of flowers is

5 + 10 + 11 + 15 + 23 = 64

The angle at the centre which represents 1 flower is 360/64 =

5.625 degrees.

I hope you can take it from there...
Reply:You have:

5 zinnias,

10 irises,

11 marigolds,

15 hollyhocks, and

23 lilies.

The total number of flowers is 5+10 +11+15+23=64

The angle at the centre which represents 1 flower is 360/64 or 5.625 degrees

5 zinnias --%26gt; 5*360/64 or 5*5.625 degrees

10 irises --%26gt; 10*360/64 or 10*5.625 degrees

11 marigolds--%26gt; 11*360/64 or 11*5.625 degrees

15 hollyhocks--%26gt; 15*360/64 or 15*5.625 degrees

23 lilies --%26gt;23*360/64 or 23*5.625 degrees

  • Why are my potted plants wilting?

I have some potted plants (2 patio tomato plants, 2 strawberry plants and a potted zinnia) on my patio ledge where they have plenty of direct sunlight. I can't figure out why they are wilting! I believe the strawberry/tomato plants may just need to have a bigger pot and bought some bigger ones today. If I don't put them on the ledge, there isn't a lot of sunlight. If anyone has any suggestions or can tell me what I'm doing wrong please let me know. I'm still new to this gardening thing! Thanks for your help!
Why are my potted plants wilting?
because your not giving them soy sauce
Reply:The patio tomatoes will need at least 10" pot per plant

A larger pot 12-14" will give you more fruit.

    use a good quality soil

(such as miracle grow with moisture additive)

temperatures need to be above 45 at night for zinnias ,

if the pots are clay, soak thoroughly

if plants are kept too wet they will also wilt

so be sure the soil is actually dry when you water

and all containers need to have drainage holes.
Reply:its your soil...give them good soil and holes in the bottom of the container then water everyday they will grow just fine...dont forget to fertilize.
Reply:Use five gallon buckets for pots, drive several holes in the bottom, put some gravel in the bottom where the holes are, and then fill the bucket to about three inches with good loose loam then watter frequently. You will be hard pressed to have a crop failure this way.

    Many plant/flower questions! please help!?
The plant seed packets should have all the information you need. It will show a map of the US and it is partitioned into planting zones. Find your zone on the map. The seed packtes tell you when to plant, when they start coming up through the ground after you've planted them and when they bloom.

What are stripper names? And how do I avoid them?

What sort of names are seen as 'stripper-ish' or 'porny'?

I was recently told by a friend that one of the names I'm considering (Violet Dawn- two old family names) sounded like the name of a stripper. Now I'm worried that all of my name choices have a slightly sexually promiscuous vibe- which is something I *really* don't want. The names that are all in the running are: Katherine, Annaliese, Isadora, Lily, Elizabeth, Zinnia, Louisa, Adelaide, Violet, Elodie, Serena, Lucy, Genevieve and Evelyn. Do these names sound bad, or is it just that I paired Violet with a 'bad' middle name?
What are stripper names? And how do I avoid them?
Relax; its just that you've paired Violet with a 'bad' middle name. Violet Dawn sounds like a 'nature' name which in turn makes it sound like a stripper name. Both names are nice, but I'd pick one or the other. Isadora Violet, Elizabeth Dawn, or Violet Lucy would sound great.

And if you want to avoid stripper names, avoid made-up names like Nevaeh. You might also want to avoid trendy, empty names like Bailey, Brinlee, Kaylie, etc.
Reply:I dont think Violet Dawn sounds like a stripper name at all. Are you sure the person that told you that isnt just jealous? I also Love the names Lily Elizabeth Serena and Evelyn and With Evelyn you could call her Evie They are all so cute
Reply:Violet Dawn sounds more hippie than stripper (sorry, no offense meant by that, but you know what I mean? Names like Summer Rain and Crystal Snowflake), even though both are real girls' names.

I think it would sound better reversed: Dawn Violet

The thing is, Violet is a beautiful name, but also a dark, sultry color, so people might associate it with sexy, sultry women.
Reply:its the middle name that makes it sound stripper-like. all your names are adorable. just keep something simplier for the middle name.
Reply:Well in my opinion no it doesn't sound whorish. In fact a name is only whorish unless the person makes it that way. Besides a name is a name and either one you pick will be great. There will be more things to worry about when little Violet Dawn comes. Oh and yeah you did pair Violet with a bad middle name.
Reply:It was the combination you used. Try Katherine Violet or Lily Isadora, I just wouldn't use Dawn, Starr, Love, ones like that.
Reply:seperatley Violet and Dawn are fine names but should be used as a middle name i believe the best way to decide if a name is good is introduce them as a doctor so does Dr Violet Dawn (your last name) sound good? or not ? just consider it
Reply:the bad ones are isadora, zinnia, louisa, adelaide, serena and genevieve
Reply:when you call anyone one by two names it can sound like a stripper and another one sure way to tell is if it sounds like an animal or a car i.e. lexus, porche stuff like that.
Reply:Dawn seems kind of stripper to me... Violet sounds lovely if you pair it with something more classic though. I love how Violet Elizabeth and Violet Evelyn sound, personally :)

As a side, the ones that sound slightly "stripper" to me are Zinnia, Elodie and Serena.
    Reply:Savanna Jade

    Serenity Rose

    Bianca Louise
Reply:I don't think any of your names sound like strippers. My sister's middle name is Dawn. I always thought it was very beautiful, reminds me of a sunset. Do what you want.

Serena Dawn or Elizabeth Dawn or Rachel Dawn

    good luck!
Reply:I don't think Violet Dawn is too much of a stripper name, but it's basically a sunrise if you think about it which could lead to others thinking of it in a bad way, one that you didn't intend. I don't think any of your other names are "stripperish". But stay away from made up names. You have some pretty classic names, except for Zinnia. That is the only one I would say DO NOT USE. I really love Evelyn and Lily from your list.

Reply:Stripper names are like Candy, Star, Co Co, Rainbow, Rain, Capri, Sky etc
Reply:It is a bad pairing, neither name is stripperish on its own. Stuff like Misty Rose, Autumn Rain and Violet Dawn sound stripperish. Avoid jewel names like Diamond, Saphire, Jade and Amber. Avoid car names like Porsche, Mercedes and Lexus. Obviously you can run your suggestions through here. People will tell you really quickly if it sounds stripperish.
